Indi Phillips is currently a research associate, editor and analyst for the MENA region with NAMEA Group and analyst for the Sub-Saharan region with Riskline, based out of Beirut, Lebanon. She contributes to several online publications, DefenceReport and European Eye on Radicalization on topics chiefly centered around radicalization to Sunni violent extremism, ISIS propaganda and radicalization processes in incarceration. Significant studies include phonetic analysis of Australian foreign fighters in ISIS propaganda videos, presented at the Australian Linguistics Society Conference, 2018. The author’s current research involves analysis and assessment of the state of Sunni militant Islam within the largest incarceration center in Lebanon, Roumieh Prison.
