Guy Van Vlierden

Guy Van Vlierden works as journalist for Belgium’s largest daily newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws. He mainly covers foreign news and has a special interest in political and religious extremism.

He investigated infiltrations by Turkish far-right groups in Belgian political parties and, since 2001 he has been focusing on radical Islam.

In 2009, he gained international interest for his interview with Moez Garsallaoui, a prominent Western fighter in the ranks of al-Qaeda and the Afghan taliban.

He also covers the topic in English on his private blog Emmejihad and wrote contributions for specialized media and institutions.
